MISSION

We love food and believe food is love. Chef Sam expresses her art through the colors of produce and herbs. Making beautiful dishes for the world to enjoy has always been her dream. To be able to share that passion with others is how she stimulates a conversation about whole life nutrition. She has always wanted to create a community for everyone to feel included and needed. She decided the way to make this impact is not only by having a restaurant, but also a co-op bodega offering a safe place for on-the-job training while serving the community with locally sourced products. Having a purpose-driven full circle business is the best way to build a community focused sustainable future.

Growth
We currently have a catering business named Pickles Farm Food and are working towards a brick and mortar for the community. By obtaining funding, we will be able to begin marketing and making connections in the non-profit sector. As a survivor of domestic violence, Chef Sam can attest to the difficulties of processing trauma while being a part of the work force. Our goal is to provide a work training facility that will be a safe haven for victims who have been isolated and abused, A place where not only will they learn new skills but will also be provided with an opportunity to be a business owner in the process. Using only locally sourced products for food preparation as well as selling locally made items in our Bodega, the opportunities to make new connections with other business owners guarantees the program will be everlasting.

Neighborhood Bodega – all gluten free, all locally made products, farmers market produce, cheese, meats. Grab and go menu offering meals for individuals or families. Vegan options available on most items.
AND a co-op employing survivors of domestic violence and providing on the job training with certification and the opportunity to be a business owner with the co-op and through local area small business we work with.
Not only are we providing actual on the job experience, we are also encouraging the adaptation of a more inclusive and allergy friendly mindset in the food and beverage industry. Harking to the diet of our indigenous ancestors.
